As a parent- and community-run kindergarten, Livingston relies on families to help guide decisions, support operations and continue delivering a high-quality Free Kinder program for current and future children.
Executive Roles:

Lead the Future of Livingston Kindergarten.
Bring people together, facilitate discussions and help the team achieve great outcomes.
This position is great for someone who has experience in leadership, management, project delivery, community organisations, coaching or team coordination.
Our President provides leadership to the Committee, chairs meetings and help ensure the kindergarten is well governed, financially sustainable and focused on providing the best possible outcomes for children and families.
The role works closely with the Kindergarten’s Director and Committee members to guide decisions, manage strategic priorities and support a positive kindergarten community.

Support, Lead and Make a Difference.
Supporting the committee and working collaboratively, solving problems and contributing to important decisions.
The Vice President plays a key role in supporting the President and helping the Committee operate effectively.
You will assist with governance matters, support committee initiatives, contribute to workforce planning discussions and help ensure continuity between Committee members from year to year. You'll step into leadership responsibilities when required and help support a well-functioning kindergarten.

Help Shape the Kindergarten's Financial Future.
Have you got experience in finance, bookkeeping, banking, business ownership, administration or budget management?
The Treasurer plays an important role in ensuring the kindergarten remains financially strong and sustainable.
Working with the bookkeeper and Committee, you'll review financial reports, monitor budgets, support financial planning and help ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained.
You don't need to be an accountant, but confidence with numbers and an interest in financial oversight can be valuable.

The Organiser Behind the Scenes
Are you organised and enjoy keeping things on track? Do you enjoy administration, planning, organisation, record keeping or attention to detail?
The Secretary is responsible for coordinating meetings, maintaining governance records and ensuring important documentation is managed effectively. This role helps the Committee remain compliant and ensures decisions and actions are accurately recorded.
You will play a vital part in supporting effective governance and helping the kindergarten meet its obligations as an incorporated association
Non-Executive Roles:

Help Keep Our Kinder Safe, Compliant and Well Governed
This role is for problem solving, improving systems and helping create safe environments.
Ideal for those with experience or interest in safety, healthcare, education, human resources, risk management, compliance, governance or policy development.
The OHS & Policy Officer supports the Committee in overseeing workplace safety, child safety, risk management, policy reviews and legislative compliance. The role helps ensure the kindergarten remains safe, compliant and continuously improving.
This role may also act as a Return to Work Coordinator if or when required, helping support employees returning to work following injury or illness.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to governance and make a meaningful difference to the safety and wellbeing of children, staff and volunteers.
Required: 1x person
Workload: Approximately 1-3 hours per month plus Committee meetings. Additional time may occasionally be required for policy reviews or return-to-work matters.

Be the Voice of Your Group
Group Representatives help create strong connections between families and the Committee.
You'll help share information, welcome new families, provide feedback and support a positive sense of community within your child's group.
This role is ideal for parents who enjoy connecting with others and helping families feel informed and included.
Required: 1x Parent per class
Workload: Approx. 1 hr per month for each class rep

Tasked at Improving the Kinder Environment
This position requires practical problem solving, organising projects or helping maintain community facilities. This role can be highly rewarding.
The Maintenance Officer helps keep our facilities safe, functional and welcoming.
You'll coordinate working bees, assist with maintenance planning, liaise with contractors and support improvement projects that benefit children and families.
Required: 1 person
Workload: Approx. 1 hour per month, up to two working bees per year as required, and attendance at monthly Committee meetings.

This roles turn Ideas Into Funding Opportunities
Do you enjoy research, writing, planning or finding opportunities? This role can be incredibly rewarding!
Many of the improvements made at kindergartens are supported through successful grant applications.
The Grants Officer helps identify funding opportunities, prepare grant applications and track grant outcomes. This role can have a direct impact on securing funding for equipment, facilities and new initiatives.
Required: 1-2 people.
Workload: Approx. 1-2 hrs per month (less, if shared)

Build Community and Create Memorable Experiences
Fundraising and social events are often some of the most enjoyable parts of kindergarten life.
This team coordinates events that bring families together, strengthen community connections and raise funds for projects that benefit children.
Whether it's a Bunnings BBQ, family event or community gathering, you'll help create experiences that families remember long after their kindergarten years.
Required: 2x people
Workload: Approx. 1-2 hrs per month and attendance at monthly committee meetings

Do you enjoy writing, creating engaging content or keeping people informed?
The Communications Officer helps connect families, educators and the community by coordinating newsletters, website updates, social media content and event communications.
This role helps showcase the wonderful things happening at Livingston Kindergarten and keeps families engaged and informed.
This role may appeal to people interested in communications, marketing, social media, design, writing or community engagement.

Workload: Approx. 2 hours per month and attendance at monthly Committee meetings.
